Records-Only Nexus Evaluation for Two or Three Claimed Conditions
or Single Conditions Requiring Expanded Medical Analysis
Full Description
Designed for Veterans with two or three claimed conditions that must be evaluated together, or for cases where a single condition requires a higher level of medical analysis.
This includes situations where conditions may be medically connected, such as secondary service connection or aggravation, and require a clear, structured explanation of how one condition causes or worsens another based on the medical evidence.
👉 A single condition may fall into this level of review when prior VA decisions, conflicting medical evidence, or more detailed medical reasoning must be addressed to support the claim.
This level of review is appropriate when the relationship between conditions—or the depth of analysis required—must be clearly defined for VA evaluation.
Examples may include:
- Migraines associated with vertigo
- Tinnitus linked to additional symptoms
- Cases involving prior denials requiring more detailed medical explanation

Independent Nexus Evaluation – Multi Conditions
How We Define Conditions
Single Condition
Evaluation of one claimed condition when no additional medical relationships or expanded analysis are required.
Multiple Conditions (2–3 Conditions) or Complex Single
Evaluation of two or three claimed conditions, including situations where conditions may be medically connected and require explanation of how they relate to each other.
Advanced Cases (4+ Conditions or High Complexity)
Evaluation of claims requiring a higher level of medical analysis due to multiple interrelated conditions, prior denials, conflicting medical evidence, or extensive records requiring deeper review.
Case Complexity
Some cases require a higher level of clinical analysis regardless of the number of conditions involved.
This may include:
- Secondary service connection
- Aggravation analysis
- Prior VA denials or conflicting medical opinions
- Extensive or medically complex records
Case level is determined by overall medical complexity, not solely the number of conditions. If a case requires a different level of review, this will be identified and discussed before proceeding.
Important
Secure checkout. No work begins until your records are reviewed and your case is confirmed appropriate for the selected level of evaluation.
Final determination is based on medical record review. If a case requires a higher level of analysis after intake, you will be notified prior to proceeding.
